Border Dash - Parkway Meet - Sept. 16 - South Bossier Park


All runners should plan to be at the meet venue by 8:15 am.  Give yourself plenty of time to arrive early at the meet for course review and warm up.  The trip to the race venue is approximately 25 minutes from the Jimmy Davis Bridge.   


Girls race will start promply at 9:00am.  Please plan to stay after your race to cheer on the boys.

Boys race will start immediately after the girls race, around 9:40am.  Please plan to be early to cheer on the girls.


Take 70th Street to the Jimmy Davis Bridge - take the first RIGHT over the bridge toward "Albert Teague Parkway."  TURN LEFT/SOUTH onto Albert Teague Parkway.  TURN RIGHT at the first light onto Hwy 71/Barksdale Boulevard at Parkway High School.  Continue SOUTH on Hwy 71 for about 3 miles until you get to Murrell’s gas station where you will TURN LEFT onto Sligo-Caplis Road.  From there, drive just over 4 miles where you will TURN LEFT into the South Bossier Park entrance.  

Parking: You will be directed to the parking areas.  There is routinely a parking/entry fee for spectators(genrally $5 per vehicle).

Description: This year Parkway High School will be hosting the 3rd Annual Border Dash Cross Country Invitational, inviting any and all teams from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma to compete. High School teams and runners must be a member of their state athletic association.


Course: 3-mile grass course, mostly flat, extremely fast, no repeat loops

                New this year, the course will begin and end next to the team areas and restrooms.


Chip Timing and Live Results: This year’s high school meet will be chip timed with live results posted.


Awards: Awards will be given to the top 10 finishers in each race as well as the top 7 runners from each state.
